西洋絵画400年の旅 東京富士美術館コレクション展（富山県立美術館） 400 Years of Western Paintings (Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design)

 

富山に来たのはこれが2回目。前回訪れた時、富山県立美術館は新しい建物を建てるための工事の真っ最中だった。

今回、新しく生まれ変わったこの美術館を訪れることができた。

ちょうど、東京富士美術館のコレクション展が開催されていた。

日本における西洋絵画のコレクションと言えば、国立西洋美術館の名前が真っ先に思うかぶが、この東京富士美術館のコレクションもルネサンス期から20世紀までカバーされていて、素晴らしいコレクションだ。

初めて東京の八王子の郊外にある東京富士美術館を訪れた時に、そのコレクションを目にしてあまりの充実ぶりに驚いたことをよく覚えている。

その東京富士美術館の西洋絵画コレクションで構成されるこの展覧会は大規模な巡回展で、2019年に山口から始まり、茨城、沖縄、熊本などを経て、この富山はその最後、10ヶ所目の開催だった。

展示作品数はおよそ80点。以前、東京富士美術館や他の展覧会で見た作品もあったし、初めて目にした作品もあった。

西洋絵画400年の旅という副題の通り、ルネサンス期のヴェロベーゼから、バロック期のヴァン・ダイク、新古典主義のダヴィッド、ロマン主義のドラクロワ、印象派のモネ、エコール・ド・パリのシャガール、そしてシュルレアリスムのマグリッドまで、作品は充実していた。

そして、それらの作品を時代ごとではなく、歴史画、肖像画、風景画、静物画など、西洋絵画の主要なジャンルごとに分類されていることにも好感を持った。

決して大袈裟な表現ではなく、この展覧会自体が、西洋絵画入門と言っても決して言い過ぎではないだろう。

This time, I was able to visit this newly reborn museum.

Just then, the collection exhibition of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum was being held.

When it comes to the collection of Western paintings in Japan, the name of the National Museum of Western Art comes to mind first, but the collection of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum is also wonderful, covering works from the Renaissance to the 20th century.

When I first visited the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum on the outskirts of Hachioji, Tokyo, I well remember being surprised at how complete the collection was.

This exhibition, which consists of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum's collection of Western paintings, is a large-scale traveling exhibition, starting in Yamaguchi in 2019, going through Ibaraki, Okinawa, Kumamoto, etc., and this Toyama will be the 10th location. was.

About 80 works are on display. I had seen some of his works before at the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum and other exhibitions, and some were new to me.

As the subtitle 400 Years of Western Painting suggests, Renaissance Verobese, Baroque Van Dyck, Neoclassical David, Romantic Delacroix, Impressionist Monet, Ecole de Paris Chagall, and Surrealism. The work was substantial until Magritte.

I was also impressed by the fact that these works were not classified by period, but by the main genres of Western painting, such as historical paintings, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes.

It is not an exaggeration to say that this exhibition itself is an introduction to Western painting.
