旅と想像／創造（東京都庭園美術館）　Journey and Imagination (Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum)


新型コロナの影響で、海外旅行や国内旅行も行けない時期が長く続いた。

国内旅行については、少しづつ行く機会も増えてきたが、海外旅行にはまだ少し戸惑ってしまう。

そんな時期に、東京庭園美術館で旅をテーマにした展覧会が開催された。

この美術館を訪れるたびに、アールデコの時代にタイムトリップした気分を味わうことができるが、今回はどんな旅に連れていってくれるのだろうか。

まずは、かつてのこの施設のオーナーだった朝香宮夫妻の100年前の欧州旅行。

ラリックの美しいガラス・アートや、パリなどヨーロッパ各地での朝香宮夫妻写真などが、当時の旅の様子を伺わせる。

その後は、さわひらき、宮永愛子、福田尚代らの現代アーティストたちによる、旅をテーマにしたアート作品を展示。

特に印象に残ったのは、evalaによるサウンド・アート作品だった。真っ暗い部屋の中で、鳥の声、雷や雨の音をひたすら聞いているというものだが、おそらくそれを聴く人の頭の中で想像する情景は、それぞれ違っているのだろう。

Around this time, an exhibition on the theme of travel was held at the Tokyo Teien Art Museum.

Every time I visit this museum, I feel like I've traveled back in time to the Art Deco era. What kind of journey will you take me on this time?

First, the trip to Europe 100 years ago by the former owners of this facility, Prince Asaka and his wife.

Lalique's beautiful glass art and photographs of Prince Asaka and his wife in various parts of Europe, such as Paris, give us a glimpse of the travels of that time.

After that, art works on the theme of travel by contemporary artists such as Hiraki Sawa, Aiko Miyanaga, and Naoyo Fukuda will be exhibited.

Especially impressive was the sound art work by evala. It's about listening to birdsong, thunder, and rain in a pitch-black room. Perhaps the scene imagined in the head of the person listening to it is different.

京都・智積院の名宝（サントリー美術館）　Treasures from the Chishakuin Temple in Kyoto (Suntory Museum of Art)

  京都の智積院は、以前一度訪れたことがある。 宝物館に意外と無造作に展示されていた長谷川等伯とその一門の障壁画と、美しい庭園の印象が強く記憶に残っている。 この展覧会で、再びその障壁画と再開することができた。 他にも弘法大師像、張即之が書いた金剛経、両界種子曼荼羅図などの多くの名宝が展示されていて、とても興味深く観るすることができた。 また、これまで知らなかった智積院のことをよく知ることができた。 智積院はもともとは高野山の麓の根来寺の境内にあった。しかし豊臣秀吉によって根来寺が滅ぼされてしまい、その後、徳川家康によって京都に現在の地を与えられたという。 成田山新勝寺や川崎大師は、この智積院の系列の寺であることもこの展覧会で初めて知った。 いつか、再び京都の智積院を訪れて、あの美しい庭園をまた見てみたいと思いながら会場を後にした。 I have visited Chishaku-in Temple in Kyoto once before. 塩見允枝子＋フルクサス（ときの忘れもの）　Shiomi Mieko + FLUXUS (TOKI-NO-WASUREMONO)

  フルクサスのメンバーとして活動していた塩見允枝子と、フルクサスの他のメンバーとの作品が展示されていた。 日本からフルクサスから参加した人物といえば、オノ・ヨーコの知名度が圧倒的だ。 塩見允枝子の作品をまとめて目にするのはこれが初めてだったが、オノ・ヨーコに引けを取らないユニークな作品が多く、見応えがあった。 世界全体をステージとして見立てて、各地のメッセージを送ってパフォーマンスをイベントを行ってもらい、その結果を共有するというアイデアは、いかにもフルクサスらしい。 また、壁にずらりと並べられていた、星座を観察するための窓、という作品もユニークだった。60年代の別なテーマの作品を、2019年にテーマを変えてリメイクした作品。いまだに創造の意欲は衰えていないようだ。 フルクサスの他のメンバーでは、ナムジュン・パイク、ジョナス・メカス、ジョン・ケージらの作品が展示されていた。 フルクサスを始めたマチューナスの、デザイナーとしての才能が遺憾無く発揮された、フルクサス新聞が展示されていて、そのユニークな構成にしばらく見入ってしまった。 Works by Mieko Shiomi, who was active as a member of Fluxus, and other members of Fluxus were on display. 都市デザイン横浜展（BankART KAIKO）　Urban Design Yokohama (BankART KAIKO)

  横浜市は、1971年に全国に先駆けて市役所に都市デザイン課を設置して、町づくりに取り組んできたという。 そうしたこれまでの50年の成果が、多くのパネル展示や模型によって紹介されていた。 それぞれの地域の地形や特徴、歴史などに基づいてグランドデザインを作り上げて、そのグランドデザインから様々な都市行政を行ってきたとのこと。 横浜といえば、歴史と先進性が上手に共存している魅力的な都市という印象を受けるが、その背景にはそうしたこれまでの取り組みがあったのだろう。 It is said that Hama City set up an urban design section at the city hall in 1971, ahead of the rest of the country, and has been working on town development.
