パリ・オペラ座（アーティゾン美術館）　The Paris Opera House and the Arts (Artizon Museum)



パリのオペラ座をテーマにしたユニークな企画の展覧会。オペラ座にまつわる色々な展示品があって、その多彩な内容に酔いしれてしまった。

オペラ座を設計したシャルル・ガルニエによる立面図。オペラ座の建設は、ナポレオン3世によるパリ改造計画の一環だった。

オペラ座で上演された様々な演目の舞台美術。中には、コクトーやレジェ、アンドレ・マッソンが描いた舞台美術もあった。

プーシェ、マティス、キリコといった画家たち、さらにはラクロワ、ラガーフェルドらデザイナーたちによる美しい衣装デザインの数々。

リュリ、ラモー、グルック、モーツァルト、ロッシーニ、ワーグナー、ヴェルディらの貴重な自筆の楽譜。

シャガールが描いた、オペラ座の天井画のための最終習作といわれる絵画。シャガールの作品らしく、丸い絵の中で天使や恋人たちが宙を舞っている。

そして、オペラやダンスにまつわる、マネ、ボナールなどの絵画。

またルノワールはワーグナーの大ファンであったことを初めて知った。ルノワールが描いたワーグナーの肖像画は、他の画家たちにより肖像画と違い、笑顔の柔らかい表情で描かれていたのがとても印象的だった。

A painting by Chagall that is said to be the final study for the ceiling painting of the Opera Garnier. Like Chagall's work, angels and lovers are dancing in the air in a round painting.

And paintings by Manet, Bonnard, etc. related to opera and dance.

I also learned for the first time that Renoir was a big fan of Wagner. The portrait of Wagner painted by Renoir was very impressive because it was drawn with a soft smile, unlike portraits by other painters.

塩見允枝子＋フルクサス（ときの忘れもの）　Shiomi Mieko + FLUXUS (TOKI-NO-WASUREMONO)

  フルクサスのメンバーとして活動していた塩見允枝子と、フルクサスの他のメンバーとの作品が展示されていた。 日本からフルクサスから参加した人物といえば、オノ・ヨーコの知名度が圧倒的だ。 塩見允枝子の作品をまとめて目にするのはこれが初めてだったが、オノ・ヨーコに引けを取らないユニークな作品が多く、見応えがあった。 世界全体をステージとして見立てて、各地のメッセージを送ってパフォーマンスをイベントを行ってもらい、その結果を共有するというアイデアは、いかにもフルクサスらしい。 また、壁にずらりと並べられていた、星座を観察するための窓、という作品もユニークだった。60年代の別なテーマの作品を、2019年にテーマを変えてリメイクした作品。いまだに創造の意欲は衰えていないようだ。 フルクサスの他のメンバーでは、ナムジュン・パイク、ジョナス・メカス、ジョン・ケージらの作品が展示されていた。 フルクサスを始めたマチューナスの、デザイナーとしての才能が遺憾無く発揮された、フルクサス新聞が展示されていて、そのユニークな構成にしばらく見入ってしまった。 Works by Mieko Shiomi, who was active as a member of Fluxus, and other members of Fluxus were on display. 京都・智積院の名宝（サントリー美術館）　Treasures from the Chishakuin Temple in Kyoto (Suntory Museum of Art)

  京都の智積院は、以前一度訪れたことがある。 宝物館に意外と無造作に展示されていた長谷川等伯とその一門の障壁画と、美しい庭園の印象が強く記憶に残っている。 この展覧会で、再びその障壁画と再開することができた。 他にも弘法大師像、張即之が書いた金剛経、両界種子曼荼羅図などの多くの名宝が展示されていて、とても興味深く観るすることができた。 また、これまで知らなかった智積院のことをよく知ることができた。 智積院はもともとは高野山の麓の根来寺の境内にあった。しかし豊臣秀吉によって根来寺が滅ぼされてしまい、その後、徳川家康によって京都に現在の地を与えられたという。 成田山新勝寺や川崎大師は、この智積院の系列の寺であることもこの展覧会で初めて知った。 いつか、再び京都の智積院を訪れて、あの美しい庭園をまた見てみたいと思いながら会場を後にした。 I have visited Chishaku-in Temple in Kyoto once before. 井上泰幸展（東京都現代美術館）　Yasuyuki "TAIKO" Inoue (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo)

  映画の特撮美術監督、井上泰幸の生誕100年を記念する回顧展。 井上は1922年に福岡で生まれ、第2寺世界大戦中に中国大陸で兵士として従軍して、戦闘で左足下を失った。 戦後、日本大学芸術学部でバウハウス出身の山脇厳の元でデザインや設計を学び、その後、円谷監督の元で映画ゴジラの特殊美術を担当して、その後はその道を極めた。 会場には、井上が特撮美術を担当した映画の絵コンテや模型、設計資料などが所狭しと展示されていた。 ゴジラ・シリーズはもとより、ミッドウェー海戦、妖星ゴラス、日本沈没、連合艦隊など、幼い頃に胸をワクワクさせてみた特撮映画のほとんどが、井上の手によるものと知って驚かされた。 最後のコーナーには、映画『空の大怪獣ラドン』のセットが再現されていた。 当時、世界から完成度が高すぎると言われたそのセットを目の前にすると、井上泰幸という人物のとてつもなさに、ゾクゾクとしてしまった。 A retrospective exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yasuyuki Inoe, a special effects art director of the movie.
