DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN（国立新美術館）　Design Museum Japan (National Art Center, Tokyo)

 

13人のクリエーターたちが日本の各地を巡り、古代から現代まで、それぞれの土地の特性を活かしてどのような物を作ってきたのかを調べてきた結果を紹介した展覧会。

南方熊楠のユニークな収集物や、そこから生み出された唯一無二の思想。世界的に評価された柳宗理のデザイン作品。岡山県の倉敷で生まれたプロペラの美しい形など。

中でもとりわけ印象に残ったのは、江戸時代の佐渡島にあったという一枚の世界地図だった。

当時の佐渡島は海運業が盛んで、幕府の出張所が置かれていたことから色々な情報がもたらされていたという。

他にも、縄文土器から、オリンピックのユニフォームまで。時代を超えた様々なデザインが展示されていて、興味深く観ることができた。

This exhibition introduces the results of research conducted by 13 creators who traveled around Japan, from ancient times to the present day, to find out what kinds of things they have created by taking advantage of the characteristics of each region.

Kumagusu Minakata's unique collections and the one-of-a-kind ideas born from them. Sori Yanagi's world-renowned design work. Such as the beautiful shape of the propeller born in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture.

Among them, the one that left a particularly strong impression on me was a world map from Sado Island in the Edo period.

At that time, the shipping industry was thriving on Sado Island, and it is said that various information was brought in from the shogunate's branch office.

In addition, from Jomon pottery to Olympic uniforms. A variety of timeless designs were on display, and I was able to see them with great interest.

塩見允枝子＋フルクサス（ときの忘れもの）　Shiomi Mieko + FLUXUS (TOKI-NO-WASUREMONO)

  フルクサスのメンバーとして活動していた塩見允枝子と、フルクサスの他のメンバーとの作品が展示されていた。 日本からフルクサスから参加した人物といえば、オノ・ヨーコの知名度が圧倒的だ。 塩見允枝子の作品をまとめて目にするのはこれが初めてだったが、オノ・ヨーコに引けを取らないユニークな作品が多く、見応えがあった。 世界全体をステージとして見立てて、各地のメッセージを送ってパフォーマンスをイベントを行ってもらい、その結果を共有するというアイデアは、いかにもフルクサスらしい。 また、壁にずらりと並べられていた、星座を観察するための窓、という作品もユニークだった。60年代の別なテーマの作品を、2019年にテーマを変えてリメイクした作品。いまだに創造の意欲は衰えていないようだ。 フルクサスの他のメンバーでは、ナムジュン・パイク、ジョナス・メカス、ジョン・ケージらの作品が展示されていた。 フルクサスを始めたマチューナスの、デザイナーとしての才能が遺憾無く発揮された、フルクサス新聞が展示されていて、そのユニークな構成にしばらく見入ってしまった。 Works by Mieko Shiomi, who was active as a member of Fluxus, and other members of Fluxus were on display. 京都・智積院の名宝（サントリー美術館）　Treasures from the Chishakuin Temple in Kyoto (Suntory Museum of Art)

  京都の智積院は、以前一度訪れたことがある。 宝物館に意外と無造作に展示されていた長谷川等伯とその一門の障壁画と、美しい庭園の印象が強く記憶に残っている。 この展覧会で、再びその障壁画と再開することができた。 他にも弘法大師像、張即之が書いた金剛経、両界種子曼荼羅図などの多くの名宝が展示されていて、とても興味深く観るすることができた。 また、これまで知らなかった智積院のことをよく知ることができた。 智積院はもともとは高野山の麓の根来寺の境内にあった。しかし豊臣秀吉によって根来寺が滅ぼされてしまい、その後、徳川家康によって京都に現在の地を与えられたという。 成田山新勝寺や川崎大師は、この智積院の系列の寺であることもこの展覧会で初めて知った。 いつか、再び京都の智積院を訪れて、あの美しい庭園をまた見てみたいと思いながら会場を後にした。 I have visited Chishaku-in Temple in Kyoto once before. 井上泰幸展（東京都現代美術館）　Yasuyuki "TAIKO" Inoue (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo)

  映画の特撮美術監督、井上泰幸の生誕100年を記念する回顧展。 井上は1922年に福岡で生まれ、第2寺世界大戦中に中国大陸で兵士として従軍して、戦闘で左足下を失った。 戦後、日本大学芸術学部でバウハウス出身の山脇厳の元でデザインや設計を学び、その後、円谷監督の元で映画ゴジラの特殊美術を担当して、その後はその道を極めた。 会場には、井上が特撮美術を担当した映画の絵コンテや模型、設計資料などが所狭しと展示されていた。 ゴジラ・シリーズはもとより、ミッドウェー海戦、妖星ゴラス、日本沈没、連合艦隊など、幼い頃に胸をワクワクさせてみた特撮映画のほとんどが、井上の手によるものと知って驚かされた。 最後のコーナーには、映画『空の大怪獣ラドン』のセットが再現されていた。 当時、世界から完成度が高すぎると言われたそのセットを目の前にすると、井上泰幸という人物のとてつもなさに、ゾクゾクとしてしまった。 A retrospective exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yasuyuki Inoe, a special effects art director of the movie.
