Flower of Life 生命の花（ヴァンジ彫刻庭園美術館） Flower of Life (Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum)

 

この美術館は、以前に一度訪れた事があった。

庭園が美しい美術館として知られるが、その際は生憎の雨模様で、足早に見学した記憶が残っている。

その後、改めて訪れてみたいと思っていたが、ついにその機会を得ることができた。

今回は、庭園のあちこちに展示されているイタリアの彫刻家ジュリアーノ・ヴァンジの作品を、十分に堪能することができた。

ヴァンジはフィレンツェの郊外の町で生まれ、幼い頃からフィレンツェで数多くの芸術作品を目にしてやがて彫刻家を志した。

ヴァンジの作品は人物像が多い。ユニークな印象の作品もあるが、シリアスな印象の作品もある。

限りある命を持った人間が、この世に生きていくということの悲哀と困惑。そのうちの一瞬がヴァンジの作品の中に永遠に閉じ込められているように感じられた。

館内には、奈良美智、須田悦弘、川内倫子、クリスティアーネ・レーアなどの作品も展示されていた。

この美術館は、2022年に開館20周年を迎えたとのことだが、残念ながら閉館が検討されているという。

わずか2度しか訪れていないが、日本に数ある美術館の中でもとりわけ存在感があり、文字通り唯一無二の存在と言っていい。

経済的な課題など様々な問題があるのだろうが、是非とも存続して、再び訪れることができるようになってほしい。

I have visited this museum once before.

It is known as an art museum with a beautiful garden, but I remember visiting it in a hurry because it was raining.

After that, I wanted to visit again, and finally got the chance.

This time, I was able to fully enjoy the works of the Italian sculptor Giuliano Vangi displayed throughout the garden.

Born in a town on the outskirts of Florence, Vangi saw many works of art in Florence from an early age and eventually aspired to become a sculptor.

Many of Vangi's works are portraits. Some of his works have a unique impression, but there are also works with a serious impression.

The sorrow and bewilderment that humans with limited lives live in this world. One of those moments felt like it was forever trapped in Vangi's work.

Works by Yoshitomo Nara, Yoshihiro Suda, Rinko Kawauchi, and Christiane Lehr were also exhibited in the museum.

The museum will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2022, but unfortunately it is being considered for closure.

I have only visited this museum twice, but it has a particularly strong presence among the many museums in Japan, and it can be said that it is literally the only museum in the world.

There must be various problems such as economic issues, but I hope that it will continue to exist and be able to visit again.
