大竹伸朗展（東京国立近代美術館）　Shinro Ohtake (National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo)

 

大竹伸朗の作品を初めて目にしたのは、横浜トリエンナーレだっただろうか。

2006年以来の大回顧展ということだが、残念ながらその2006年の展覧会は見ていない。

今回行われた展覧会では、500点以上の作品が展示されていた。内容というより、量で圧倒しようという趣の展覧会だった。

大竹の作品は、思想とか背景とか、頭の中で難しいことを考えることなく、素直にその前に立つことを求めてくる。

この展覧会のことは色々なテレビ番組で紹介されていたが、その多くの大竹本人が出演して展覧会を宣伝していた。

会場には特設のグッズ売り場も大々的に設置されていて、アートの展覧会というより一つのエンターテイメントという感じもした。

そうした節操のなさも、大竹伸朗というアーティストの一面でもあるのだろう。

I think the first time I saw Shinro Ohtake's work was at the Yokohama Triennale.

The exhibition featured more than 500 works. Rather than the contents, it was an exhibition that tried to overwhelm with the quantity.

Ohtake's work asks you to stand in front of it without thinking about difficult things in your head, such as thoughts and backgrounds.

This exhibition was introduced on various TV programs, and many of them were advertised by Ohtake himself.

There was also a large special merchandise store set up at the venue, and it felt more like entertainment than an art exhibition.

Such lack of discipline is also one aspect of Shinro Ohtake as an artist.

京都・智積院の名宝（サントリー美術館）　Treasures from the Chishakuin Temple in Kyoto (Suntory Museum of Art)

  京都の智積院は、以前一度訪れたことがある。 宝物館に意外と無造作に展示されていた長谷川等伯とその一門の障壁画と、美しい庭園の印象が強く記憶に残っている。 この展覧会で、再びその障壁画と再開することができた。 他にも弘法大師像、張即之が書いた金剛経、両界種子曼荼羅図などの多くの名宝が展示されていて、とても興味深く観るすることができた。 また、これまで知らなかった智積院のことをよく知ることができた。 智積院はもともとは高野山の麓の根来寺の境内にあった。しかし豊臣秀吉によって根来寺が滅ぼされてしまい、その後、徳川家康によって京都に現在の地を与えられたという。 成田山新勝寺や川崎大師は、この智積院の系列の寺であることもこの展覧会で初めて知った。 いつか、再び京都の智積院を訪れて、あの美しい庭園をまた見てみたいと思いながら会場を後にした。 I have visited Chishaku-in Temple in Kyoto once before. 塩見允枝子＋フルクサス（ときの忘れもの）　Shiomi Mieko + FLUXUS (TOKI-NO-WASUREMONO)

  フルクサスのメンバーとして活動していた塩見允枝子と、フルクサスの他のメンバーとの作品が展示されていた。 日本からフルクサスから参加した人物といえば、オノ・ヨーコの知名度が圧倒的だ。 塩見允枝子の作品をまとめて目にするのはこれが初めてだったが、オノ・ヨーコに引けを取らないユニークな作品が多く、見応えがあった。 世界全体をステージとして見立てて、各地のメッセージを送ってパフォーマンスをイベントを行ってもらい、その結果を共有するというアイデアは、いかにもフルクサスらしい。 また、壁にずらりと並べられていた、星座を観察するための窓、という作品もユニークだった。60年代の別なテーマの作品を、2019年にテーマを変えてリメイクした作品。いまだに創造の意欲は衰えていないようだ。 フルクサスの他のメンバーでは、ナムジュン・パイク、ジョナス・メカス、ジョン・ケージらの作品が展示されていた。 フルクサスを始めたマチューナスの、デザイナーとしての才能が遺憾無く発揮された、フルクサス新聞が展示されていて、そのユニークな構成にしばらく見入ってしまった。 Works by Mieko Shiomi, who was active as a member of Fluxus, and other members of Fluxus were on display. ペンティ・サラマッティ展（何必館・京都現代美術館）　Pentti Sammallahti (Kahitsukan・Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art)

  寡聞にもペンティ・サラマッティのことはこれまで知らなかった。 1950年生まれのフィンランドの写真家だという。 展示されていた写真は、フィンランドを初め、世界各地の風景写真が多かった。 スペイン、ポルトガル、ハンガリー、ロシア、エジプト、インドなどなど。日本の福島や京都を写した写真もあった。 それらの写真を見ていくうちに、不思議な感覚に囚われていることに気がついた。 それらの場所を一度も訪れていたことはないのに、何だかとても懐かしい気持ちになってきた。 海の写真からは、かつて訪れた海の風景が、山の写真からは、かつて訪れた山の風景のことを思い出していた。 サラマッティは、個別の風景の写真を撮りながら、同時にこの地球上にある風景の原型のようなものを撮影する特別な感覚を持っているようだ。 そうした体験は、これまでの写真家の作品では味わったことのない、衝撃的で特別な体験だった。 ペンティ・サラマッティという名前は、決して忘れることのできない名前となった。 I didn't know about Pentti Sammallahti until now.
